Introductory Exposition of Somnambulance Induction!

Translation: You will fall asleep reading this. Or hopefully not. Also, an introduction.

As you can probably tell from the tag directly to the right of this article, my name is Tim Fisher, and I run the place. One of my greatest pet peeves in life is when a person misquotes the Bible, or claims they know something about Christians that is absolutely bogus. Christianity has been getting mixed reviews, many of which were at least partially uninformed, pretty much since it's inception (and before that, Judaism had the same problem). So I figured that instead of spending 20 minutes researching to counter their errant points (because of course, the burden of proof is always on me) every time I run across that issue, I would just make a database of analyses of the Bible.

Yes, the whole Bible.

That's the plan, anyway; I intend to pick apart every chapter sequentially and give them each their own post. This isn't exclusively a Bible study, though. I'll also talk about current events, and occasionally rant about a specific misconception that I've run across.

I do take requests for topics, and I do not shy away from the hard questions. However, I am not obligated to respond to intentionally inflammatory, leading, or loaded questions, so if it feels like I'm ignoring you, you might actually be correct. Or I could just keep missing your questions, so keep trying. I'll let you know if your question falls into any of the above categories. There is such a thing as a stupid question, however they do tend to be hilarious to try and answer, so have no fear about that.

To make the posts easier to navigate, I'll be following a simple template.

Summary or Theme of Chapter

Book Chapter
Verses go here.

Deconstruction
Here, I'll take the chapter apart, verse by verse if I have to, and analyze it from the perspective of a person reading the Bible for the first time. The hypothetical person here will be assumed to have read all previous chapters in all previous books.

Integration
In this section, I'll go back and analyze the verse again, but this time from the perspective of someone who's gone to church their whole life. I'll be going over what it means in relation to the rest of the Bible, what it could be referencing or foreshadowing, and things like that.

Extra Remarks
I almost always have something extra to say, and this is where it goes when I write it.

That's all I have for now. I'll try to pump out at least one post per week. I'll do more if possible, but I'll try to keep to a minimum of one per week. If you know me and see this go dead, poke me and get me back on track.

Good reading,
-Tim
